Any idea's on what I could sell mt 51 Cranbrook for? No Rust, new paint, new interior, new motor, runs like a kitten. Original 6V system, needs little chrome work, have tons of spare parts including a 49 engine/3 sped tranny.

Your car would be worth about $6K for #3 condition or $9K in #2 condition. It is doubtful that your car is in #1 condition but would be in the area of $12K. "Your car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it." Nice car!

I have a 52 cambridge so I look arouund when I see them for sale for some reason the 50-54 plymouths do not seem as desirable to buyers as other years so it tends to keep prices down.

Yours look nicer then mine(photo in my profile) but if I could get $5000. for mine I think I would sell it quickly.

But start high you can always go down

You need to go to Old Car Price Weekly or any of the old car prices guides and read the definition of each grade, #1, #2, and #3. Almost all of the show cars that you will see at a car show are #3 cars. A number 1 car is just out of the restoration shop with a numbers matching and complete rebuild. Every component is as new. Too many people think that their #3 car is a #1 car. You need to look at some of the Barrett Jackson auction cars that are built just for the auction up close in person to realize the workmanship put into the vehicle. I know of a shop that builds cars for people just for the auction. They are now using up to a four foot sanding block to block sand the car panels to assure that they are straight with no ripples. They add and remove metal on all of the movable surfaces to obtain an even gap where the parts join. All of this takes an enormous amount of time and cost to perform, so,no that car you have in the barn is not worth as much as the cars at the auction.

Don't sell it now if you don't have to. Old car prices seem to be declining as everybody seems anxious to sell their toys with a tanking economy. I am seeing alot of cars selling on e-bay and craigslist as well as other places for very cheap prices. Wait a while if you can. As mentioned above these early 50's Mopars do seem not have the desireability of other makes.
