Shel, Churchill is 800 miles north of where I am seated right now, never been there, not much desire either, we have enough winter down in the very south end of Manitoba.

Polar Bear sight seeeing is a regular occurence in Churchill, folks come from all over the globe to study them in that town of about 3000 people.

Apparently while this polar bear attack was happening people just stood by, watched, and did nothing.

Happened in Churchill, Manitoba.

You would expect more from Canadians.

Maybe Fred is near there and heard about it.

A full recovery is expected.

Maybe those folks standing by doing nothing were nervously looking for Mama Grizzly...she would definitely have had something to say!!!

When I was a kid, we would stop along the highway on the way to Banff or BC and visit with the cubs and even Mama sometimes. I never knew how dangerous it was...obviously the parents didn't either. No recollection of anything bad happening at the time, although there must have been incedents.

Have a few pics here somewhere...
