Tony WestOZ Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Lee, I was going through my Lucas book (recent acquisition) and noticed that they list a generator for power steering on the 56-57 models. I have never seen a car (or ute) with power steering. Do you have any info on what they used. Quote

I have not seen one either but i understand it was the type where the pump mounted on the back of the generator. I have a heck of a lot of the old Lucas parts books that I have scanned and can put on CD. OZ and english versions if you have any old Lucas parts you can not identify let me know the numbers. Do you have a source for the Lucas vacuum advances? Quote
Brad Lustig Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I like the new format, too. But it's going to take quite a bit of getting used to. Even though its format is similar to many other forums I visit. Jeez how many years have we all woken up to that old familiar format? Quote

Thanks Lee, the Lucas book I picked up (Lucas Equipment Specifications for Australian Vehicles 1950 to 1965 covers most of what I need to know, but if I get into trouble I know where to come for advice. I have never had to chase down a new vac advance unit, mainly because I have had second hand spares laying around. If you are after a new one I can talk to a couple of people how are into English vehicles, they might have a source for Lucas parts. Did you have any luck finding the paint colour info? Quote
