1955 Belvedere exhaust manifold help.

Can someone tell me what this little cone port is for?  It’s not the choke tube.  The choke tube is on the left of this cone.  When the car is running you can hear the exhaust coming out and I can plug it up with my finger and it’s quiet.  I dropped this engine in my 1947 special deluxe.  This engine supposedly came from a 1955 Belvedere.

  • Doug Cook changed the title to 1955 Belvedere exhaust manifold help.

A small bolt attaches the heat chamber  cover to the manifold using that threaded hole.
