Emergency Brake Band-1947 Chrysler Saratoga

Hello, I have seen many exploded-view diagrams for the emergency brake connection around the drum at the rear of the transmission but unsure as to the correct replacement method.  I don't want to unnecessarily remove/disconnect parts that did not need disconnecting.  I have a replacement band from Andy Burnbaum that has the brake lining already installed on the steel arch.  Does someone have a step-by-step narrative/diagram on how to replace the brake-band?  Thanks in advance - Bill.

I tried to photo the page from the shop manual but it was too blurry.

This is what the shop manual says:

REMOVE AND INSTALL HAND BRAKE BAND

1. Remove adjusting bolt, nut and guide bolt adjusting bolt nuts.

2. Remove anchor adjusting screw and pull band assembly away from transmission and off propeller shaft.

When installing band, make sure clearance between anchor and bracket does not exceed .005 inch, then adjust band.

ADJUSTING HAND BRAKE

1. Set hand brake lever in fully released position. Be sure free play between sides of anchor bracket on center of band and anchor does not exceed .005 inch.

2. Remove lock wire and adjust anchor screw so clearance between band and drum is .015 to .020 inch.

3. Lock anchor screw securely.

4. Turn guide bolt adjustment nut until clearance between band and drum is .015-,020 inch.

5. Turn adjusting bolt nut until clearance between upper half of band and drum is .015-,020 inch.DSCF5722.JPG.662418a0f0ca7f243cfe933e2128a499.JPG

Joe, thank you for this information, my manual only has one page on this issue and is NOT informative.  The instructions you typed look pretty simple, I'm on it !!  Again, many thanks ... Bill
