Truckatologist Posted April 10, 2022 Report Posted April 10, 2022 Good morning- hoping to get some guidance. I have a 46 wf 32 with power boosted rear brakes. I recently got them plumbed appropriately and working, and my rear brakes are very touchy. When the vacuum booster actuates it locks all 4 rear tires up with very little modulation available. Are there any adjustments to the vacuum system or booster ? I have my shoes adjusted appropriately. Any help is appreciated! Picture of the truck for fun below Quote

Is it a Midland booster? Thanks- yes it is mid frame mounted, yes a midland booster. I don't have a picture on me but can post one when I get back to the truck in a few days. I appreciate any guidance you can offer! Quote
Truckatologist Posted April 10, 2022 Author Report Posted April 10, 2022 Unless if you can glean any information from this zoomed out, grainy picture, haha thanks Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted April 10, 2022 Report Posted April 10, 2022 I will look up the service bulletin on that booster....no adjustments that I know of. It should supply boost to all four wheels. Quote
Truckatologist Posted April 10, 2022 Author Report Posted April 10, 2022 Hmmmm. My master cylinder high pressure line goes to a front splitter, which then has one line going to the front wheels, and another line feeding the mid ship booster. The output of the vacuum booster goes to just the rear axle. This is how it was plumbed when I got the truck, but it makes sense to have all the wheels boosted, but would take a lot of plumbing Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 I will dig out the W series DT Service Sheets by tomorrow... Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 (edited) Some info...of course pics ended up out of order..oh well. This is a free service Edited April 12, 2022 by Dodgeb4ya Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted April 12, 2022 Report Posted April 12, 2022 More pics..The line coming out of the top end of the booster slave cyl goes right over to a brass "T" block fitting that both the front and rear braje lines connect to. The booster sends boosted fluid to both front and rear brakes...not just to the rear brakes. The master cylinder line connects directly to the fitting at the base of the slave cyl. area as shown in the pics. Quote
Truckatologist Posted April 12, 2022 Author Report Posted April 12, 2022 Well that is super helpful information thank you. Pretty clear that I need to do a significant re working of my lines to get boosted juice to all 4 corners. I can't imagine how well this things gonna stop. I appreciate you doing all the work looking for me, thanks 1 Quote
