1940 Plymouth gearshift linkage adjustment

I am trying to adjust the shifting linkage to get into reverse, which I know is there somewhere. Can someone direct me to the details of how the adjustments are made? The service manual does not address the issue. Thanks in advance for any help

Try putting the shifter and the trans in neutral. Adjust the rods, should be a slip fit. Check that the motor mounts are in good shape and not collapsed.
