Pooshoe Posted November 14, 2020 Report Posted November 14, 2020 Rebuilding my lower control arms and I did not know if I can either make the the tools needed or if I can just measure the arm, bushings and pivot shaft ? Thanks for the help Quote
James_Douglas Posted November 14, 2020 Report Posted November 14, 2020 You really need the tool or you have to make a jig yourself. If the shaft is not exactly where it needs to be then... The lower control arm will be more forward or rearward. Even a little bit and it will cause the spindle upright at the bottom to move with it. What that does is change the angle of the king pin so that the "range center" of the castor adjustment will move. I am fighting this exact issue on my 1949. In my case, I want to move that "range center" so I can have more castor adjustment in the direction of more castor. The best thing to do it so make sure that you get this correct. James. Quote
