Two summers ago I bought a disassembled ‘63 Love Bug, with all parts boxed, parts of two disassembled VW engines and one solid pan for $80. All of this was in storage from 1975, so while dusty  in excellent shape. I thought I would make some nice $$ on the scarce ‘63.. so while trying to sell or swap said items the interested buyer thought my price too high an pd commented rhetorically “I don’t know how much Monet you have in all this”! 

 

That stuck with me me so I queried, “What do I want to get from this inventory?” I concluded I wanted a solid running engine installed with the transaxle into my EMPI Sportster,  help fixing the brakes and $500 cash.So I made him that offer and he accepted. For $80 I swapped for a rebuil engine and labor and cash an easy 2500 value. We both won.

 

im going to do the same with my Suburban. As soon as legal, etc., I will drive it and slowly improve until I get the amount of $$ I need for a slight upgrade of Darlene kitchen and some extra cash. Someone will get a nice suburban which he can improve to his wallet and we will have what we want.
