I am going to put disc brakes on my 41 plymouth P-12, have looked at scarebird and rusty hope, what are the preferances?  What are the thoughts on masters?  Now, how about the rear end, should I think of changing it for something that has discs or at least better brakes?  By the way I will be putting a newer rebuilt 218 and original 3 speed. While I am at it, I am going to do the shock absorber change, do I still need to do the swaybar upgrade?  Dave

Dave I put discs on a 4.  AAJ in the rear and scarebird in the front.  No problems with either.  Stock rear.  Moved the front shock locations but I can't tell you if there's any improvement as I never drove it before I changed it.  Kept the stock MC but installed a brand new one.  The brakes work great.  I have not seen a need to change the sway bar.

Thanks for the information,  that looks like the way I will go also. I sent you a PM before I really woke up and understood what you were saying, sorry. Dave

I have a Dodge but I think it is a 218. I know a guy in Ninilchik who has a dodge out of a pickup, I will ask him. I am trying to figure out the front suspension travel to mount the shock correctly, did you use the rusty hope adapter?   Did you consider the AAJ discs for the front of yours? Do you have original wheels on your car?  Dave

I do not remember where I bought the adapter but I was sorely disappointed with it.  Two very small 3/8" steel pieces.  Could have made them myself for less than $5.  I made a pattern and sent it to someone on here so you might be able to find it and make your own.  I bought the AAJ rears used for $75 and the Scarebird kit was a good deal at the time as well.  I would have bought AAJ for the front as well but I believe at the time SB was cheaper.  I have the original wheels on mine.
