mopar4life Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 I've got the steele rubber catalog and want t know what to order for body mounts? either mine doesn't have any or just a piece of conveyor belt, I want to do it right once. Mine is a 1947 dodge coupe Quote
casper50 Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 these are the ones that I bought for my 47. Everything worked perfectly. I had to make the metal parts that go inside the bushings. https://www.moparmall.com/20-pc-Molded-Body-Mount-Set-for-1941-1948-Plymouth-p/301-048_a.htm Quote
Bingster Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 I looked through the web site Mopar Mall.com where you got your rubber and I was amazed at the assortment of parts they offer. U.S. made wheel cylinders? Rebuilt water pumps. A lot of vent and window rubber. Is this a better source than Steele? Quote
casper50 Posted October 17, 2018 Report Posted October 17, 2018 The body bushings were all that I have bought from them. I'm very happy with them. Also, much cheaper in price. Quote
mopar4life Posted October 21, 2018 Author Report Posted October 21, 2018 the steel piece you needed to made; is it just a tube cut to length? Quote
casper50 Posted October 21, 2018 Report Posted October 21, 2018 a correct size tube cut to length and welded to a correct size washer. I had to drill the hole out to the correct size in the washer for the tube to fit snugly. Quote
mopar4life Posted November 6, 2018 Author Report Posted November 6, 2018 I've looked at mopar mall now i'm tying to picture how it goes together. Those steel parts you had to make; three per side and two sets of different bushings. Do you have any dimensions of the needed part you made? even though it is a dodge I'm glad i'm not the first one to have gone down this road. I've been told by a ford guy; he is a ford in a sea of chevys, but I'm a dodge in a pissing contest. Quote
casper50 Posted November 6, 2018 Report Posted November 6, 2018 I just copied one of the originals that was still mostly complete. I do believe that there was 3 per side. It's been 3 years or so. It took me awhile to realize how they went together as well. I finally found a drawing in the parts manual that did a good enough job of showing it. Quote
