maok Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 Has been leaking ever so slightly from the boot (which was just staying together) and finally have had a chance to investigate. There was lots of grime and old hard oil inside the boot (probably from the tail shaft boot spraying the grease around the general area) and in the cylinder. I thought I would post these pics of the Australian version of the master cylinder for you LHD'ers The angle at which ours are mounted on the right hand side chassis rail. Quote
dpollo Posted November 20, 2017 Report Posted November 20, 2017 interesting. The LHD model 52 mounts on the bell housing. The reservoir is up on the firewall with a little tee handle which is pumped every so often to keep the master cylinder full. mine has a slip joint on the pushrod so that the piston is not pulled back too quickly as this would allow air to be drawn in. Apparently this was a real problem in 1925 when the Lockheed system was introduced, Quote
maok Posted November 21, 2017 Author Report Posted November 21, 2017 Here is another pic showing where it bolts on to. Quote
