fortymopar Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 Hey all. Just joining up here - looks like a ton of knowledge among this group! Does anyone have a paint code for patrol blue in a base clear urethane? Im doing a frame off on my '40 dodge D14, and I'm not having much luck finding a good match. Ive tried having the remaining original paint scanned, but not getting very good matches any help would be most appreciated! regards jeff c 1 Quote
casper50 Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 Welcome to the forum. Real nice coupe. take off some trim and try to scan the paint underneath. Will be closer to the original color and in better shape. Might be able to get a good scan that way. Quote
40plyguy Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 Really like the look of the coupe. I have a 40 ply sedan. Anyway go to www.autocolorlibrary.com. They show paint chips and you can buy paint from them as well. Hope that helps. Best of luck................ Quote
fortymopar Posted August 13, 2017 Author Report Posted August 13, 2017 Thanks guys! This one has 36k original - it sat in a barn from '62 till i got it in '98. I've had it stored since then until dragging it out a year ago to start the project. Unfortunately it was outside storage for about 3 years the paint on the firewall and door jambs was pretty decent, but the scan not so good. Quote
medium_jon Posted August 13, 2017 Report Posted August 13, 2017 Awesome workshop there @fortymopar . I'd be happy just to have that floor somewhere. Quote
fortymopar Posted August 13, 2017 Author Report Posted August 13, 2017 Oh i must confess - thats the floor of my buddies resto shop. Took it to him for all the sheetmetal and paint action. I've done all the mechanicals at my garage, which isnt nearly as nice - or spaceous Quote
medium_jon Posted August 14, 2017 Report Posted August 14, 2017 @fortymopar, it is good to have friends with nice workshops Quote
