hemirunner426 Posted August 2, 2017 Report Posted August 2, 2017 First I don't want to offend anyone by wanting to put an early Hemi in my truck.I would like to keep the original drivetrain.I can't find any information about bellhousings that might fit the hemi and adapt to my 3 speed standard.I can fabricate fairly well but I don't have a machine shop.Hoping I can pick some brains out there. Thanks Quote
wayfarer Posted August 2, 2017 Report Posted August 2, 2017 Welcome to the old geezers club.... I have a thread on the car side that is intended to collect details on bellhousings. Although the focus was toward the t5 swap the basic info may be helpful if more folks get involved and post some info. You will need to identify the trans, input shaft and bolt pattern to see what might be close. There were plenty of manual bells for the V8 as well as the combination L6/V8 pieces so something might fit w/o too much fussing. Is your engine still installed/attached to everything? 1 Quote
59bisquik Posted August 2, 2017 Report Posted August 2, 2017 The 54+ Truck bell housings can be found in V8 or dual pattern which would work with the hemi and fits the stock 3 speed. However, this style bell housing does not have the frame mounting ears like the earlier trucks and the provisions for the pedals and master cylinder. Some fab work would have to be done there. Look in the car forums for Wayfarers topic on T5's and there are a few pics of bell housings. Quote
