Thomba48 Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 Hi - I am interested in a heater duct replacement and have obviously found various offerings for example in ebay. i.e. this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heater-Duct-for-1949-1952-Plymouth-Dodge-DeSoto-Chrysler-/222297120742?fits=Year%3A1949|Make%3APlymouth&hash=item33c1f0dfe6:g:t7sAAOSwhDdXDmim&vxp=mtr To me they just look, well cheap with all the visual tags, not really original enough. Has anyone got any experience with those offerings or maybe more appealing ones on offer? thanks Quote
rekbender Posted June 30, 2017 Report Posted June 30, 2017 I have one of these on my '49. For the price, it is well made and fit with only a little trimming, but it's not an exact reproduction You'll have to swap the sheet metal flange from your old duct at the fire wall and make a cork gasket. There is a fellow on the Plymouth Bulletin who makes what appears to be a really nice reproduction for $149.00. You can find it here: http://www.plymouthbulletin.com/market/market.pdf Quote
Thomba48 Posted July 1, 2017 Author Report Posted July 1, 2017 Thank you. That certainly looks better. I might look into this option instead. Thom Quote

rb1949 Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 I just threw an extra 10 ft piece away for my 49. No bites from classifieds. Good luck. Quote
lwebb Posted July 1, 2017 Report Posted July 1, 2017 Hey Thom. I think I still have the original I took off my 49 p18 when I added vintage air. Would you be interested in that. As I recall it's in great shape. If so let me know and I'll see if I can find it and take picts. I don't check this site often so send me a PM if you are. 1 Quote
