1953 Dodge B-4-B Front Knuckle ID

Hi Guys,

I recently picked up this truck and I am trying to identify the front knuckles.  The parts list has pictures of the various front knuckles for the B series trucks but i cannot seem to find this particular design. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That looks correct for a B4B truck. The 1/2 - 1 ton trucks use pretty much the same spindles, but the 1/2 ton trucks used slightly smaller bearings. The brake assemblies and brake drums are also different for each model, but the spindles and king pins are very similar, but not necessarily interchangeable between models.

I was looking to rebuild the front end (well everything, lol), do you happen to know by looking at it what tonnage the axle is, that is what seems to be tripping me up for parts ordering.

Unless there's evidence that the axle has been replaced, I'd go ahead and order parts for your '53  1/2 ton truck. I can't tell by the picture, but I don't see any reason to believe it's not the original 1/2 ton axle.
