John Reddie Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 I had these photos of a '41 Plymouth and noticed the item that appears to be involved in the cooling system. Has anyone here seen this before and can identify it? John R Quote
casper50 Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 (edited) looks like some kind of thermostat to me. I've never seen one like that before though. Edited March 6, 2017 by casper50 1 Quote
Oldguy48 Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 Never seen one of those before, but it looks like it could be a vacuum operated control valve for the heater hose....maybe. Quote
Niel Hoback Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 Definitely a vacuum controlled water valve. Apply vacuum to the nipple and it opens the valve. No vacuum, no heat. Easier than the shut off valve on the back of the head. Quote

Thanks for the responses. John R Quote
