sbright66 Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 It's been a while and thought I would post a couple pics of the 38 progress. It finally moved under it's own power yesterday. Really happy with the Langdons dual carb and electronic ignition upgrade. Now to wire the rest of the car. The American Autowire Highway kit is really nice and should be a breeze. knuckleharley Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 First car I ever bought with my own money was a 38 Chrysler 4dr 6cyl. Only had about 30k miles on it and I bought it from the nephew of the original owner for 20 bucks. I think I was 13. Old 4drs were not the sexy cars of my or any other teens dreams, but it was there and it was what I could afford. Had a cousin haul it home for me because my father hated old cars and refused, and he showed me how to pull a head and free up stuck valves. Damn thing ran better than my father's new stationwagon. Nothing was missing, not even the bumper jack,it wasn't rusted out anywhere, and the upholstery wasn't even torn. My plan was to work during the summers to get enough money for insurance and tags by the time I was 16. Somebody came by one day while I was at school and offered my father 250 bucks for it,so he sold it. Quote
Robert Horne Posted December 24, 2016 Report Posted December 24, 2016 Nice looking Plymouth you have there. I sold my 37 two door sedan a couple of years ago, just too many project. Quote
