Rodney Bullock Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 Hi all, as you may not know my 1940 Plymouth was in a Documentary last year on the geography channel. It was a 4 part program on the creation of the atom bomb that was dropped on Japan. The car has been sitting other wise as I have been building a 1966 Pontiac 2+2 convertible. After the completion of the 2+2 I began working on the Plymouth. I think the gas has been causing problem with the car. I had the carb rebuilt, replaced the fuel pump. I hope all my old friends are well. Quote

I hope you drained and flushed the gas tank as well as replaced ALL the rubber fuel lines and any plastic fuel filters with replacement parts designed to deal with ethanol while you were at it? If not,do so now and hope you will be lucky enough you won't have to rebuild the carb and replace the fuel pump again. This modern Ethanol gas is a nightmare with old cars and fuel systems. Quote
