Buick john Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 Any help out there my 48 Chrysler 3 window has an oil leak found it leaking from the oil filter return bowl. It's a different body so it's been modified to the one in photo have no idea of year make or model it comes from & I need to replace both O rings any clues Rgds Quote
dpollo Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 as I recall, the o ring grooves are in the block and a standard o ring will fit in the groove. The oil filter unit you have is typical of 49 to 54. 46 to 48 had threaded holes with pipes leading to the canister. Quote
Buick john Posted August 3, 2016 Author Report Posted August 3, 2016 Yes dpollo two threaded holes at 12-6 clock with grooves round them I will try some O rings then Quote
Don Coatney Posted August 3, 2016 Report Posted August 3, 2016 You are fortunate to have a full flow filter. As mentioned find an O-ring that fits and you will be good to go. I added a petcock to the bottom of my filter to make draining the oil painless when replacing the filter. 1 Quote
