Harbison Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 Looking at a 1948 b-1-c for a few parts. Too far gone for anything else. Any value in the 3/4 brake drums? Also has cab length running boards instead of ones that go all the way to back fenders like my b-1-b. Quote
Dave72dt Posted July 28, 2015 Report Posted July 28, 2015 There's always some value in good used parts. Good drums are getting hard to find. The problem is they are heavy and costly to ship. Bulky parts like hood panels, grilles and doors are also costly to ship. All the small parts in good condition should be salvaged. If truly beyond restoration, salvage everything you can, list the parts in the classifieds and use the cash returns to offset the cost of your current or next project. Quote
Harbison Posted July 29, 2015 Author Report Posted July 29, 2015 Doors and fenders are completely rusted through. Front is smashed in. Engine has head off. It appears to be factory flat bed. You're right, shipping is cost prohibitive on large or heavy parts. If I get it, I think I'll take all the small pieces I can take off. Quote
1949B-1-C Posted August 11, 2015 Report Posted August 11, 2015 I would be interested in the brake drums if they are in good shape! Did you get them off by chance? Quote
