Well I am progressing to the point of re-attaching some of the trim on the Coronet. It seems the door beltline trim clips have lost their mojo and cannot be re-used as I had planned. The question is, is there a good sustitute? I have seen some of the type that have a threaded rod attached witha little spring wire. Has anyone used this type? All the door panels are off so access is not a problem. Thanks!

Go to a good auto paint supply store not a napa store but a store that suppliers paint to autobody repair shops. They should have clips in all types of sizes and assortmaents Find a clip that will fit you molding. I like the plastic molding clips that have thye plastic barrel on the end and then you just push the barrel end into the hole.

Plastic does not rust and is easier to work with  and no one will ever see the clip so use modern stuff and not the old clips.

That's kind of a problem for me. I live in a very rural area with no such stores around. As they say this is not the end of the world, but you can see it from here. I hate to just guess by ordering on line. I will be headed to fall Jefferson in southern Wisconsin Thursday. Maybe I can find some there. As you say I would like to use plastic or nylon to keep from rusting.
