crussell Posted September 3, 2014 Report Posted September 3, 2014 Hello, a new purchase: 1956 plymouth savoy hard top. Six cylinder automatic. Decent original survivor car, needs some tlc. What is the correct color for the engine? Right now it's just rusty colored. I would like to freshen it up while I have the nose off the car.( that's how I purchased the car). car is otherwise complete, somewhat worn but nice. Thank you Quote
wayfarer Posted September 3, 2014 Report Posted September 3, 2014 Silver, Mopar part number P4529148, or what ever 'silver' you prefer. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 I have used the Por 20 High Heat aluminum paint made by Por 15......applied with a one or two inch brush. It's a nice shiny aluminum color and has held up well for me. Some people have painted their engine black with chrome ....... some red with black accessories.........or some other color that coordinates with the color of your car. Silver with black accessories on mine........... 1 Quote
DutchEdwin Posted September 4, 2014 Report Posted September 4, 2014 (edited) I did my engine with POR15 silver with a brush some years ago Some hot parts are turning a bit yellow/brown. (the heat duct in the intake manifold). However the paint sticks to the engine perfectly. For the result, check my photobucket. Edited September 4, 2014 by DutchEdwin Quote
