4852dodge Posted August 15, 2013 Report Posted August 15, 2013 I removed all previous coatings on the cab to bare metal because of the mulitple layers of who knows what that was on there already. Some of what was there appeared to be house paint. The chassis was painted with Rusteoleum black 25 years ago when I first got the truck. It held up very well but I did not do a good prep job and it showed. This time I spent the time and effort(mine) to do a better job. The cab I'm using this time was from a parts truck that had no rust issues unlike the first cab. I decided to use Rusteoleum because of durability and price. I got the 2 gallons of paint and hardner for under 100 but was quoted 250 for auto enamel not including reducer and hardner. 2 Quote
