pflaming Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 I began to notice that my truck was beginning to steer very hard. So took a look and noted the right side tire was low. Brought it up to pressure to match the other and my easy steering was back. Message: with power steering a driver cannot tell he has a low tire. It is then easy to understand that that tire is going to get a lot of unneeded wear. Driving an old vehicle is a constant learning experience which I thoroughly enjoy. Met a fellow who said that a chicken ranch in the foothills about 15 miles from me at one time had maybe 6 - 8 trucks like mine for irriigating, etc. I'm going up next week and see if they just parked them years ago. Be neat to find a bevy of PH's. Quote
MBF Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 These old vehicles give constant feedback which you've got to be attuned to. I wonder where all this automatic braking, collision avoidance, self parking, etc is going to take drivers that grow up dependent on these features? This will be especially true when they get some age and miles on thesm. I like the simplicity of these vehicles, and the fact that it takes some skill to drive them safely. Hope you find a stash of PH's. Need pictures! Quote
