Kai-by-Vecona Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Hi Everybody, today I checked my engine number and the number is D34-323118. Because the car is a 42 Dodge Custom Coupe, engine nr. should start with a D22-... As far as I know, the engine was never swaped, but I think this is wrong. Are there any differences between the two engines were I can see if it's a 42 or a 1950 engine? Are all parts interchangeable? Thank you in advance Kai Quote
Don Coatney Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Engine external size is the same. Was common back in the day to swap engines, Quote
Kai-by-Vecona Posted October 17, 2013 Author Report Posted October 17, 2013 so there will be no difference in parts and accessories? Thank's for your help Kai Quote
james curl Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 The 42 model was the first of the 230 cu in engines, I have a 41 Dodge engine in my 48 P-15. The 41 was 218 cu in the same as the Plymouth through 54. Quote
