Niel Hoback Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 Stupid question alert...... Where do the little rubber strips go? The box calls them "R6312 Oil Pan Front End Seal". I guess they go somewhere at the ends of the front gasket. But where? And how? Thank you in advance. Quote
Desotodav Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 You should have 2 'h' rubbers and 2 rubber slits in the kit Niel. The 'h' rubbers go in the rear main bearing cap (Picture 1), and the slit rubbers get inserted into the top of the front horseshoe shaped oil pan front seal plate (picture 2). CAUTION... that front seal plate has a bolt running through from the front that holds it in place (as well as the 2 bolts at the top) - don't ask me how I know! Quote
Niel Hoback Posted September 15, 2013 Author Report Posted September 15, 2013 Those seals come with the rear main seal, this is only the pan gasket set. Thanks for the quick reply. Quote
Desotodav Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 Small rubber strips are the same as from the rear main seal kit - come with the sump gasket as well... Quote
Niel Hoback Posted September 15, 2013 Author Report Posted September 15, 2013 OK. Thats good. If I don't drop the rear main then I won't need them. Thank you. Quote
