Drifter99 Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 I bought a 230 bolted to a HY Drive was going to replace with a 42 rh trans, I got it taken down to the torque converter and now I can't get the bolts on the engine flange out to tight of a space. What am I doing wrong ? And also is this block different from the other 230 because of the sharing of oil in the trans. It's going in a948 dodge truck. Thanks in advance trying to keep it Mopar needbie here!! Quote

Loosen as far as you can and rotate motor again slowly after moving the converter out as far as possible and then you will be able to take nuts the rest of the way off. I understand the the shared oil ports need to be plugged off to be used on a std. trans. setup. How I have never done this, but sure someone on this forum will give you the answer. Doug. Quote
