Don Coatney Posted April 1, 2013 Report Posted April 1, 2013 I ran across my back up fuel pump last week and remembered I had not rebuilt it. So I ordered a repair kit (about 40 bucks delivered) from Antique Auto Celler. Great folks to deal with. My new kit arrived on the 3rd day after ordering. I know that many have had problems with the lever pin slipping out of the housing as it was nor "staked". My old pump was staked so that was not a problem. The rebuild kit comes with a new lever pin and it is secured by cir-clips. Installing the kit was a breeze. There were a couple of extra parts in the kit. I did the thumb vacuum test once completed and it passed. I will now bag it up and carry it in my to go toolbox. I highly recommend this kit. 1 Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 Don, I did the same thing for my car. Antique Auto Parts Cellar is great to deal with. I got my kit some time ago and they didn't have the circlips, though. Sure wish they did. Quote
Barabbas Posted April 2, 2013 Report Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks Don, the timing is perfect for me--I just replaced the fuel pump on my P23 with a Power Wagon type fuel pump. I have the old Carter style like yours sitting on my bench, it was pumping more fuel into the atmosphere than to the carbs. I'll get one of the rebuild kits and have an emergency spare Quote
