BobT-47P15 Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 OK, the question is: if you were wanting to put in new windshield rubber and also new upholstry including a headliner......which would you install first??? Quote
JerseyHarold Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 I think the headliner is held in by the window gaskets front and rear, so I'd put the headliner in first, then the new gaskets and glass. Quote
bob westphal Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 The P-15 headliner isn't held in by the windshield or the rear glass. They are stapled to a hard fiber header that is held in place by bent tabs that are part of the body. I know because I had to replace this header piece when I did my headliner. If your header is deteriated you can buy some more at your local upholstery/glass shop. Bob Quote
Niel Hoback Posted November 5, 2006 Report Posted November 5, 2006 Whatever you want to do first is the right thing to do. But since you asked, I would put the windshield gasket in first to seal up the car, then you can take your time with the upholstery because it won't get damaged from a leaky window. What the hey,,,,,, do the backlight too. Quote
