YukonJack Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 I have been following various dual master cylinder update threads. I like the idea of gutting the stock master and running a rod through it to a dual master. However I don't like the idea of it sticking up through my floor. Is there a dual master that will fit under the floor, maybe with remote fill? Quote
Robert Horne Posted March 15, 2013 Report Posted March 15, 2013 There are several remote fill master cylinders available. I see them in hot rod books very often. On my 48 Dodge, with the Mustang II master cylinder, I had to replace that section of the floor, so made a small raised door to access the MC, maybe 1/2 inch in height, 8 inch x 8 inch wide. With the padding and carpet, can not tell it is raised...... Quote
supervert Posted March 17, 2013 Report Posted March 17, 2013 i just used a 80's f350 master and mounted the res. on the firewall. i just used some plastic fittings on the master to plumb the lines too. its a 1-1/8 bore and with the sploder front calipers and the cherokee rear drums the pedal feals great. 1,000,000 times better than stock Quote

MattWalker Posted March 20, 2013 Report Posted March 20, 2013 I have a wildwood 1" master with remote reservoir, after adjustment, it is working great. I would stick with a 1 1/8 bore if you can get one. I believe the 69 vette master is 1 1/8 and there is a kit to convert to remote reservoir. Whether it'll fit under the floor with the adapter kit I don't know. That is the master eci recommended to me when I wasn't sure if the wildwood one was going to work. Quote
