Chester Brzostowski Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Saturday 9/29 is a car show at the Leesburg Airport. My Son-in-Law is showing his car and asked me if I wanted to bring the 48. Well the answer is yes but not to compete just to hang out. Jim, Rodney, and Pat if you have nothing to do it might be an opportunity, if not maybe breakfast on Sunday. Let me know, I am brining the car back this Saturday. Chet… Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Chet, it would be great to see you and your car but if everything goes as planned, I will be celebrating the successful 500-mile run in my 1956 Chevy pickup. I've spent the last 10 months worth of weekends working on it and it's finally ready to go. I'm leaving on Friday, the 28th. Don't know if I'll make it, but that is part of the adventure. Sorry to hear about your paint woes. I have a similar problem--self-inflicted and a rookie mistake. I hope to get back to the Plymouth soon. I thought I was going to be able to resume work on it some months ago but the Chevy just didn't want to be awoken from its 20-year sleep. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Chet, What time is the show? I may not have my fender repair done by the 29th but I would still like to drive up and see you and your car. Jim Yergin Quote
Jim Yergin Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Joe, Good luck with the trip. Are you avoiding the interstates? I look forward to hearing how it went. Jim Yergin Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Jim, as it turns out, I'm taking I-95 all the way up to Cape Cod. The truck cruises along nicely at 65 or so. If it gets too crazy out there, I'll switch to an alternate route. I might take it on a run this weekend and was thinking about coming out your way. Are you going to be around? Quote
Jim Yergin Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Joe, My daughter has soccer games at 12:15 on Saturday and 1:15 on Sunday. Otherwise I will be around and would welcome a visit. Jim Yergin Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 OK, Jim. I'll let you know if and when I'll be coming by. I'm going to make a trip to the Tractor Supply down the road from you. Quote
Chester Brzostowski Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 Hay Joe, Good luck on your trip. Jim, I don't have the details. I will find out. I think here are other things going on and the auto show is just one of them. I'll get more info and either post it or email it to you. Chet... Quote

Joe Flanagan Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Yeah, I'm sorry I'm going to miss it. I could be trudging along the New England Through-Way in a rain poncho by that time, hoofing it to the next exit. Quote

I just called the guy's and they said those are two different shows with planes and cars. 9-29 I will be at the master cruzer's dance with my dear wife dancing the night away:p The wife and I will be driving the plymouth because it's a two seater. You know what that means, no rider's:p just like the old days when cats traveled to the dance in their own hot rods and arrived with thier dates. I hope they play some Sly and the family stone:cool: I might get lucky and get some of that great sheet cake this year;) Quote
Chester Brzostowski Posted September 20, 2012 Author Report Posted September 20, 2012 Rodney, Do you have to pre-register or can you just drive in. I would like to be on the field but not be judged. Is that an option? What time do you need to show up? Chet… Quote
Jim Yergin Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Chet, From the forms posted on the web site, it looks like you have to submit an application and be pre-approved. You also have to have $1,000,000 in liability insurance coverage. Jim Yergin Quote

One evening last week Little Richard stopped in. I found that he lives in Shelbyville, TN just down the road and he frequently stops there to eat. He must be around 75 years pld. He gave the guys wife an autographed picture and ten dollar tip. Long live "Tutti Fruiti, good booty":D Quote
