RobertKB Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) Sometimes you get lucky. Recently took a trip to the west coast of Canada for the wedding of a daughter of good friends of ours. It was on a small island (Mayne Island) between Vancouver and Victoria on Vancouver Island. On the last day there I was riding a borrowed bicycle from the B & B where we were staying and found this car parked in the middle of nowhere. Not really nowhere but an unlikely place to find a '48 Dodge D25. I managed to find the owner and he said take what you want as he is going to make a ratrod out of it by placing it on a Ford truck chassis, chopping it (I told him about knighthawk's four door chop), and doing whatever it takes to make it unrecognizable. He said his biggest compliment would be being asked, "What was it?". He was just glad to get rid of the parts and know they would be used. Very nice guy and let me use any of his tools I needed. Incidentally, he was very familiar with the forum although not a signed up member. He basically said take what you want and take the whole dash if you want it. I took it. Also got the weathered but pretty sound complete grille and parking light bezels, and excellent radiator (no leaks) as a spare for my car, rear end trim, and sundry other parts. Clock I took out and resoldered the wire and it looks and works great. Radio was after market but fit nicely as it is same shape as the MOPAR radio. Working temp gauge was removed to avoid damage while travelling. My old 2003 Impala was pretty loaded up after adding this to the luggage. Anyway, some pictures. Going to keep some parts as spares but others are available/for sale if you see anything you like. Just PM or email. Sorry for the plug. Edited August 11, 2012 by RobertKB Grammar Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 Hi Robert. It's me again. Just saw your post about the ol Dodge in the woods. Does it seem to be a good headlight switch with knob? If so, son in law's P15 could probably use it. What price would you want? Thanks. Bob Quote
