dave5711 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Most of the odds and ends sorted out. Last detail was/is the lettering in the pics. Quote
dave5711 Posted July 16, 2012 Author Report Posted July 16, 2012 ps. For those wondering, "Danforth Cartage" was my grandfathers trucking company. He lived on Danforth Road, in Toronto. The lettering, and phone number are from pics of his trucks, so they are legit. That was in ontario, where they rust to nothing really fast. This truck spent it's life as a aaa/caa service truck. karl head Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Nice looking truck....love the colour combination Quote
dave5711 Posted July 16, 2012 Author Report Posted July 16, 2012 Thanks dude. I feel the door art in the same colour as the wheels ties it all together. Quote
Scruffy49 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 That's the same blue my 49 is (except mine was sprayed about 1958, and looks it). What size shoehorn did it take to stick a wedge engine in there? My L6s are shot, my 413/727 isn't... Looks great! Quote
dave5711 Posted July 17, 2012 Author Report Posted July 17, 2012 The wedge install wasn't too hard. Main issue was the length of it. I cut part of the firewall back. There was a line I followed in the stamping. It's about 4" back from stock. I also removed the horseshoe rad support, and supported the front clip and fenders on the frame. Other than that it was a piece of cake...lol A 26" mopar rad fit in there with a slight trim of a top frame rail. about 1/4" on each side. That put the 727 where it just cleared the floor. Drive shaft ended up 46.5" center to center. I used a 3/4 ton truck transmission crossmember to support it. It all seemed to work out. I'll get you more pics/and details if you like. Quote
