I've searched the forums and couldn't find an answer so figured I'd ask here. I am in need of a starter as closer inspection shows it is missing I was wondering what starters will fit and from what years 6 or 12 volt, I read it somewhere in the threads that any mopar starter will fit but I find it hard to believe.... I'm not sure I am doing this right so if I am posting in the wrong forum or incorrectly . please excuse the newby:)

Karl,

Welcome to the forum. You have a 1948. I have a 1948 Chrysler Royal.

Is your 48 a Plymouth, Dodge, or a Chrysler. Is it a 250.6 cu in 6 cylinder?

Is it a 230 cu. in. Plymouth 6 cylinder, or a 218 cu. in.?

Well anyway I hope I'm helping narrow it down.

By the way you posted fine and in the right place for great information.:)
