Hi,

I just picked up a 1951 Fargo /Fluid Drive Truck. It doesn't unfortuantely have the fluid drive transmission, however it is going to be a fun project over the next while. It has a D43 Flat Top Six in it (Which I believe is a Canadian 1953 engine out of a car.)

For the most part it is in pretty good shape, does anyone know where I might find some parts for this thing?

Thanks,

Lots of folks have parts available here on the forum. What do you need and where are you located ? Nice truck ! Welcome !

Well, I guess I have to build a floor for the Cab myself, but probably going to need various things... Front bumper being one?

Curious though, anyone know what parts I can get (from what vehicle) to switch it over to an electronic ignition? I want to drag the points and condensor out and put a simple electronic ignition in. Flathead 6.

Here's the easy way:

I've got one, and am pleased with it.

I haven't decided which is the best way to go yet, I am on the fence about throwing a healthy small block / bigblock in it, or going as original as possible... Just want to get it running for now so that I can move it around on its own power while I gradually pick away at it over time.

I am located in Victoria (Vancovuer Island, BC Canada for those that don't know)

How much is cheap for the fluid drive?
