T120 Posted February 26, 2012 Report Posted February 26, 2012 Here's something I find interesting... Following is a comparison of the 1080 versus the 1071 oil filter specs. They have the same physical dimensions The 1080 is classed as a by-pass filter while the 1071 is classed as a full-flow The micron rating is 21 for the 1080 versus 25 for the 1071 The 1071 sells for less (Fleet Filter) ...Any thoughts on this ?? T120 Posted February 26, 2012 Author Report Posted February 26, 2012 (edited) Okay..here's my thoughts for what it's worth, the only difference I can see other than price is the "nominal" 4 micron difference in the filter media .The bypass 51080 being able to filter finer particles.I guess we have to trust the manufacturer is providing accurate specs....Depends how "nominal" is defined Edited February 26, 2012 by Ralph D25cpe Quote
