desoto1939 Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 I have just received a historical report from the Chrylser museum with the build sheet for my 1939 Desoto. The cost to me was forth the money spend. They also include several black and white factory photo's. there is one on which that car is having the hub caps place onthe car. In this photo I noticed that the wheel pinstriping is not the same as what is on the rest of the Mopars from these years. According to other posts we state that there were three stripes on the wheel but my factory photo and like I sttates there are several that was included show only two stipes and both are same size in width as compared to the thin, wide, thin that we see on most of the Mopar's. I will scan the pictures and then post them on this post. So who is correct a factory photo for judging or documentation as per some other postings. I would say that the factory pictures are the more correct and I would use this as my proof when being judged. This why you need to have as much documentationon your car to prove the point if something is different than what is to be expected. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
desoto1939 Posted February 2, 2012 Author Report Posted February 2, 2012 here are three factory photos of the rolling chasis and a completed car with the assembler putting on the hubcaps and finishing touches. These are the photos that I received from the chrysler museum. Note that there are ONLY 2 stripes on the center of the wheel and not the standard three. the file size was too large so if you want the photos I will send them to anyone that asks for them Rich Hartung desoto1939@aol.com Quote
