Although I am a long way from painting my '51 B3C, I wanted to lock in the paint code for Dark Green that I have seen and liked on many of the trucks on this Forum. Since my truck was originally blue, I did not have a sample to take to my PPG dealer for matching. Thus, I used the Search Function for the key words Paint Code. Four pages of threads came back. I hit pay dirt on the last thread on the last page.

The thread is titled "1950 Dodge Truck Green" dated 11/2/06. Between Reg Evans and H Suhling, the following codes were identified.

Ditzler- #40028

duPont - CHROMABASE BC GS372K

I took these codes, together with another for Spectomaster I found in another post, to my PPG store and both codes crossed into the PPG system (the Spectomaster code didn't). They were able to get the formula for DCC acrylic urethane and mixed a 4 oz. sample. It looks correct. I have the six part formula for DCC urethane if any one needs it.

Thank you Reg and H. Suhling

Barry:

Taking a long shot here but hoping you are still monitoring this forum and might be able to provide information. Helping a friend on a 1952 Dodge pickup painted Dark Green and having a hard time finding a good current paint code. If possible please provide information regarding the Ditzler/PPG paint code. Thanks much
