John Mulders Posted April 7, 2007 Report Posted April 7, 2007 After a day of working on the stainless , will not be show quality but it will do for a driver. Arms feel pretty heavy now.... I thought I also would put the ventwindow in the painted mouldings. Also have recently spraypainted the vent metal. Decided to spray clear coat (same brand as the paint) over it but that wasn't working (the gray/silver was changing colors here and there to black), resprayed it gray/silver. The ventrubber was in the moulding but removed the top part. As there needed to be a hole , I cheched again and puncture the rubber wher it was really thin. Then put the window in and thried to slip the rubber over the top pin. Almost had it and then the rubber ripped..... AAarrgrghhhh. Finished it and it looks good in the door, I think I can glue (anyone for a good rubber glue?) the rubber piece that came loose to the rubber in the frame. Have to do the other one , tomorrow, and will need to figure out how this can go without the ripping! Perhaps get the vent window in with only a small piece (underside) in the frame. Will try to post some pics tomorrow. John Quote

bmt47p-15 Posted April 8, 2007 Report Posted April 8, 2007 I used some super glue when I made side window rubber for my 47 DIVCO. Could not find rubber that would fit so I used universal rubber and super glued the ends together. Worked good just be sure to wipe of excess with a thinner rag. It dries shinny. Locktite make some that list rubber for one of the uses. Quote
