stan's52 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I am installing new chain and gears on my 52 concoard. In the cover plate that goes on first, which is part of the motor mount. There is a 1/4 threaded hole in this cover between the cam shaft, and the crank gear.Anyone know what this threaded hole is for? Thanks for any info. Stan Quote

aero3113 Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I just remembered, are you talking about the oiler? There is small tube that is mounted to that threaded hole, You can see it in this pic. But the threaded hole is in the block not the cover? Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 I was going to say, it sounds like the hole where you mount the oil tube for the timing chain. Quote
stan's52 Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 The threaded hole is in the block. Where does the tube get the oil supply from. Thanks for the pictures. Now I will begin te surch for that tube. Thanks Stan Quote
Andydodge Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 The threaded hole is for the bolt that holds the oil tube bracket.......andyd Quote
stan's52 Posted July 22, 2011 Author Report Posted July 22, 2011 I see the big picture now. There is a hole where the chain oil tube plugs into and the 1/4 threaded hole is for the clamp. After 20 or so years of this motor being apart that tube is gone. Where do you think I can find one? May need to make one does the tube have 2 holes to squirt on both gears? Stan Quote
Andydodge Posted July 24, 2011 Report Posted July 24, 2011 Stan, nope, one hole tho its squashed a bit so that it squirts harder...........andyd Quote
