I will be hosting a car show tomorrow at H.D.Woodson high school and guess what I'll be driving? You guessed it the Plymouth, It's the only car I have that can fit everything in the trunk. The wife said she misses it and would like to ride in style. Shes learning! I will send some pic's...wish me luck!;)

Oh Jim, I did not see your post until now. It's in DC as the gentleman sais. I would have loved for you to have been there. It was a great sucess we had about 50 cars in and out all day, I had some of my fgriends from all the car clubs come by. The show was free to the public and free for the car guys. four trophies awarded and 40 prizes givin away, I had kids reach in and pick a winning ticket, each kid got a hot wheel car stiii in the pack. Lots of happy faces. I had two live bands, horse back rides for the kids. It was a fun filled day. The plymouth performed flawless as usual. I did 65 coming home, the wife and I are glad it's over we ran the whole thing http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v145/mr1940/IMG_0260.jpg

Rodney,

Impressive pictures. Sorry I didn't know about the show ahead of time. Do you have a date for next year's show so that I can mark it on the calendar?

I bet you and your wife slept well Saturday night. Congratulations.

What do you do if it rains,,,on all that grass??? Around here it would be a sea of mud. Most car shows here stick to the paved streets and parking lots. Its great while the sun shines, on grass,,,but not worth a hoot in the "MUD". Your milage obviously varies a ton!!!

I had to do a anti rain dance on Saturday, I tell you it would have really hurt if it had rained however it was a great day. The horses need that grass, I don't think those guy's would have partisipated if it was on ashfalt. Jim, after the show the Gentleman that sponsored it was so happy he asked me if I would do it again next year, he wants it to be an annual event. If it is it will be on March 31, I think that's Marvin Gaye's birthday, the Gentlemans office which is about 100 feet from where the show took place is actually Marvin Gaye's childhood home. He has restored it and the park is right accross from it as well. The school H.D. Woodson was not there in Marvin Gaye's time it was a wooded area, now the park is like a trail. The kids were very well behaved, The parents were very watchful, I guess when you give out hot wheels cars and trucks it takes away any brat pranks:D I would love to do it again, it's my way of giving back!

Claybil, I am sorry. Sometimes I forget that this forum is international. My world is very small and I think everyone in it lives just around the corner. The show that I did was done in the nations capital, Washington DC. H.D. Woodson was one of the most modern schools built in it's time. they had a state of the art track and field and curriculum. Marvin gaye was a singer with motown in the early 60,70. He grew up about a block from where H.D. Woodson is located. The park service in conjuction with the Marvin gaye society. Has named the marvin Gaye park, a stretch of land next to the school in his honor. The home in which he grew up in has also been restored. I was asked to host the first car show which will be an annual event in his honor. I was on the radio last week end promoting the event and it took place 3-31-07. This week end there will be a dedication of the park with dignitaries and relitives of Marvin Gaye. There is also a web site that tells of all the events leading up to Saturday's dedication.http://aolsearch.aol.com/aol/redir?src=websearch&requestId=ede54f77f195387&clickedItemRank=2&userQuery=marvin+gaye+park&clickedItemURN=http%3A%2F%2Fapp.calendar.rrc.dc.gov%2FeventDetail.aspx%3FthisDate%3D4.2.2007%26eventId%3D6054%26eo%3D10065&title=DC.Gov+Citywide+Calendar%3A+Marvin+Gaye+Music+Festival&moduleId=matchingsites.jsp.M&clickedItemPageRanking=-8&clickedItemPage=2&clickedItemDescription=WebResults
