I have the same arm that is new. I bought it hoping I could turn it into a RH side but it wouldn't work. It will mount up and look right but I think the end of the arm is different where the board slides on when I compared it to my complete arms. Hope this helps.

Hi Rich, Shel posted that question on the website for me because I was not yet registered with P15-D24 (I was before when they had the old system but haven't had the time lately until now). What I wanted to know (since I have one too), is if that arm fits on the drivers side only and what years of trucks did it span? I have been told that the pilot house era was from 1948 to 1953 but then I was told that the part I have (the visor arm), also covered trucks up to at least 1959. What year was your truck? Do you still have it (the arm)? Did it have the cloth on it too or was it just the bare rod with the 3 holed pivot? Mine is just the rod but I have the inside board (detached--made out of masonite), and the pattern for the cloth that will eventually go on it. Hope to hear from you when you get a chance. Ken :)

Hi Ken, My truck is a 51. I still have the rod that you have and it is just the rod with the pivot. It is just for the driver side because of the way it is angled. It will bolt on the pass. side but will not sit the same on the body

Hi Rich,

Thanks for getting back to me. I am on another computer right now because my regular one has some very serious problems that I have to iron out before I can use it again. I'm just mentioning that in case I don't get a chance to get back to you again right away (so you, at least, know why)!

Anyway, I know that this must be a stupid question but if the rod fits on your 51, why haven't you used it yet (or are you)? Does your truck already have one on? Do you know if the part number (on yours), is the same as mine (it should be on the back of the pivot). Mine is: 1279153LH. That might tell us something because mine was suppose to be for a 48 B-1-B, but it says that it came off of a 59 (someone scratched that date on the metal flap on the rod). Now I don't know if THEY made a mistake with that or not. When I bought it, I was told that it would fit on my 48, but I bought it sight unseen (sort of--it was on ebay--just had a picture), so I didn't see that date until I got it in the mail. I never had the chance to try it out on my truck because I sold it about 6 or 7 years ago, but then found the visor arm just recently. If you have one already on your truck and this is your spare we are talking about here, do you think there's a chance that there might be 2 different part numbers involved?

The reason I am asking is because I am trying to find out what the placement or useage range is for this bracket (what are the years it spans), and are there any other visor arm components that maybe LOOK similar (to yours---or mine), but have a different number. Do you have any old parts books (for Dodge trucks), or do you know of anyone that does? I have a 48 4dr sedan and I have the shop manual AND an original parts book for the whole car, so I know that they are out there. Do you belong to a Dodge truck club where someone might have that info? That information MUST be out there somewhere. What part of the US are you in anyway? I am in the midwest.

Thanks and hope to hear from you again when you get the chance, Ken

I don't have a book with part numbers. I bought this on ebay also which seams to be the same part number as yours. I did buy the passenger side on ebay from Townwagon (screen name) He seams to have a lot of the old Dodge stuff. A bit pricey but it was one of those things I had to have so I bit the bullit and bought it. He always has stuff on ebay so see if you can E mail him and see if he knows what the numbers are. Good luck. You can also try Mitchel Motors .He has a ton of old NOS mopar stuff.

I've met Eric (aka Townwagon). He is a good guy with a lot of knowledge on older Dodge trucks. He also chimes in here from time to time. I agree with Rich, if you email him he may have the part #'s you seek. He uses the same screen name with this forum.
