please school me

ok I have had 3... 51 dodge pick ups and now I have a chance to get a 49 , I think there is no tags on this truck and I can,t tell if it is a 48 , 49 or a 50 can some body tell me how I can find out what year it is cause the front nose looks the same to me in all three years:confused: it does have the granny 4 speed in it and the cab has the corner windows,, gauge package is differant than the 51. any help as to finding out what year this is would be great . when I get it home it will be parted out so if ya need parts let me know I will post it up in parts for sale in a few days

'48 & '49 (B1) are the same. One quick way to know if it's a '50 (B2) is to look at the park brake. B2's have the park brake under the dash like your B3's. A B1 would have the park brake coming through the floor next to the shift lever. There were some late B1's that had many of the B2 changes. They are designated with an "X" in the serial number.

Otherwise, to know for sure you'd have to plug the serial # into Eric's decoder.

Yup-if you've got the horizontal guages centered in the dash its a 48-50. Mike
