GaryPrice Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 I finally got my motor in. Here's some pics. Had to ding the firewall about the size of a half dollar for the passenger valve cover. I'll have to pull the inner fender back on each side just a smidg for header clearance. Couple of pics of the rack and steering column/shaft. Still got to fab a tranny mount. It's a 318 Magnum/904, Cavalier rack, Pontiac Grand Prix column. Got the Scarebird disk kit. Got an 8.8 Explorer rear with disks. Quote
Adam H P15 D30 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) Is that a TCI brake pedal mount under there? Same as I use. Is the front suspension stock or????? Edited March 18, 2011 by Adam H P15 D30 Quote
GaryPrice Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 I bought it on ebay from one of those ebay dealers in Iowa. I'm pretty sure this is the one. I bought it 10-12 months ago and no longer have the history of the purchase. I got the 7" booster. A lot of street rodders I know told me to get an 8".....we'll see when I get it going. Quote
GaryPrice Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 Oops. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNIVERSAL-STREET-ROD-POWER-BRAKE-BOOSTER-ASSEMBLY-32-/310294596492?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item483effcb8c#ht_2597wt_939 Quote
Adam H P15 D30 Posted March 18, 2011 Report Posted March 18, 2011 I also have a 7" DUAL diaphram booster. My engine will produce about 10" of vacuum on a good day so I am going to use a resevoir with a built in vacuum pump. ECI sells them I think. With good vacuum and a dual booster, 7" should be enough. GaryPrice Posted March 18, 2011 Author Report Posted March 18, 2011 The guys saying I need an 8" booster are wimpy Chevy guys....haha Quote
