madelineoak Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Hi, I would like to find out the approximate weight of my 1951 half ton truck. It doesn't have anything extra on it (except radial tires); it's pretty much stock (minus most of the wood on the truck bed, which was rotted out pretty good when I bought it). I am hoping I can tow it with my 2000 Toyota Tacoma, and I'm having a little difficulty tracking down the specs. Any information would be appreciated. I'm quite excited to be able to at last get my truck back from the country, and I want to be careful: it's up a steep and windy dirt road. Thanks so much for your help, Madeline Quote
moparmonkey Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) According to the 1952 Dodge Truck Salesman book, a 1952 B-108 1/2 ton weighed ~3,025 lbs with water, oil and fuel. But I think that's just the cab and chassis, so the bed is extra? I'd guess that the truck shouldn't weigh much more than 3,500 lbs with the bed included. link here, you'll need to go to page 3... http://dodgepilothouseclub.org/know/salesmans_models/imgcol/index.htm Hope this helps! Paul Beard Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 According to the plate inside the left door my "53" B4B weight from the factory is 3900 lbs. My truck has a long bed with high sides. Quote
lugnut123 Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I hauled my B2B home with a trailor and my 93 nissan 4x4. It followed me all the way. Quote
