Gas tanks interchange??

Need a gas tank for my p 15 does anyone know if a say 50 or 54 will interchange with slight mods?

If you don't mind making slight modifications, you might look at the late 40's Ford gas tanks too. They look pretty close. A poly tank from Ply Do is about $250 with the shipping. It also requires some modifications though.

Also Tank Inc, in Minnesota, have the steel tanks, for the exact fit for the P 15, they are $215.00, they have Stainless tanks on sale for $325.00 this month. Or you could go with a 48 Ford poly tank they manufacture it is $215.00, I will post there phone number later.........Fred

If its any help Lou,the same tank fits ALL 6 cylindermopar passenger cars 1940 thru 1948. Eight cylinder looked the same ,but had a deeper bottom half for more capacity. It could also be used,but the straps that go with it would be needed. Those are very hard to come by tho, and the 6 cyl. should be around. Years ago,I bought seven of them,NOS for 5 bucks apiece. Needless to say they all are gone-- on my cars and freinds.
