Not car related, but neat story.

This morning my wife and I went to a garage sale that is held once a year about six miles from here. While going thru an old photo album, I found three World War Two post cards for War Bonds. On the post cars was a name of the bank and address of Shawnee, but no state. I asked the lady what she wanted for all three, she said a dollar, so needless to say I bought all three. When I got home, I googled Shawnee, Ok Chamber of Commerce for giggles, got thier phone number and called them, I told the young lady what I had and she told me to call the Santa Fe Depot Museum in Shawnee, well I did, had a good visit with the director, and he said that the bank was no longer in business, but the building was still in use and yes, that post card was from the bank in Shawnee, Ok. I asked him if he was interested in having the post card, he said yes, so I mailed it to him via certified mail.

I find it neat that there three post cards found thier way to the Catskill mountains of New York and with today's technology, I was able to track down thier home and send one back. Sure would like to know how these cards found their way here.

Just wanted to share,

Bob

I used to go to a place called Shawnee when I was a kid. Was it in PA? I remember digging for fresh water muscles..there were tons of 'em. The locals just watched. When I got to the shore...they asked what I was gonna do with them. I said eat 'em. They said "brake one open and smell it...That's what there gonna taste like, and they'll give you the runs for days" Oh well, I threw 'em back.

That's cool! I like the 4 digit phone number. Did they answer on one long ring or two shorts?
