Aug 21st....Springfield, MO swap meet & HAMB drags

Just an F Y I for anyone who might be interested.

The weekend of Aug 21st will be the big swap meet at the Ozark Empire

fairgrounds in Springfield, MO on Fri, Sat, Sun. Not usually much old

40s - 50s Mopar stuff, but I usually go hunting anyway.

And, the HAMB drags in Joplin. Host hotel will be the Holiday Inn. Fri nite

is party nite with a couple bands, some reasonably cold beer, (bring your own) and lots

of assorted style rods and kustoms to see. The actual drags take place

on Saturday afternoon/evening at the MoKan Dragway, between Joplin

and Pittsburg, KS. They have a full slate of drag cars pre-registered, so

it should be interesting. Gates open at 11:30 a.m. on Sat.

I wish I could be there. Earlier in the summer I was planning to drive the '55 down there, but my riders backed out. I guess I'll wait till next year...

Kirk, I see they have a couple good bands for Fri night....the Rumblejetts and

Miss Major and Her Minor Mood Swings, both from Kansas City. Hope to
