insaneradio Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Thanks Bob for the pics and information. I am still trying to make some connection to the outside cover paint and the particular version. This one pictures is a later version ofcourse missing the color wheel. Can you please confirm---on the other two sets you make mention they do not have the color wheel. On those two sets is the case completely painted?? Or is the front end of case by the dial unpainted. Thank-you. fedoragent Posted July 21, 2010 Author Report Posted July 21, 2010 I looked today and I do not have a radio. Looks like I'm going to have to pick one up. The plate that is in there is a block plate and NOT the original radio. Crap. FG. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Dave, I don't recall how the other two were in regard to paint or lack of. They are all now in Kansas City with son in law to be worked on at some point. I'll try to remember to ask him to look and tell me what he sees. As far as which radio is oldest, I have no idea. Have bought them at various places at various times......the most recent purchase was at a swap meet in Nashville over a year ago. And......I don't know if they all came from Plymouths, or from other Mopar brands. I would wonder if a more expensive model might have the more "uptown" color changer. Quote
Powerhouse Posted July 21, 2010 Report Posted July 21, 2010 Howdy, Which radio do you have? Is it just a plate or is there a smaller radio within the plate? Quote

M, I have to take whatever is in there out of the dash when I get the chance. With the wedding next week it is going to be a bit difficult. However, I think it *might* be a smaller radio. Whatever I take out, I'm going to take to John in Arcadia. FG. Quote
insaneradio Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 Thanks Bob, After doing what research I can it appears that unless the case is totally painted there is a high degree of probability it will not have the color wheel. I have another radio I purchased from E-Pay and will be picking up from the post office tomorrow. It is the fully painted version. I will see if it too has the color wheel. I stronglty suspect it will. Thank-you again for all your assistance. It is apprecitated.
